Moonbeam 2019

Description

The 2nd annual Moonbeam was held again in line with the UN Women’s initiative for the International Day of the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The evening began with performances by Crista Aguinaldo from Hataw, Anya, Baybars, Sam & Kaye in a choreographed acro piece that depicted a woman trying to hide the abuse in her relationship only to be seen and saved by close friends. Additional performances included a touching acro piece with the theme of sisterhood and support by Acrocodiles, Sylie & Zuzana. Guest speakers such as Vanessa Jass, founding Lawyer of KIR Law Group and advocate for human trafficking victims, Alexander Cameron from Next Gen Men, and Rachelle Cruz, journalist and founder of the Filipinas Speak Out movement shared their platforms to the attentive crowd. Conscious curator of slow fashion, Ethikal, hosted the Clothing Swap to commence the night.
