The inaugural Moonbeam was held in line with the International Day of the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It was a night to gather movers and shakers for a Sober Dance Party + Acro Jam to commemorate the UN Women’s Initiative. Guest speakers such as Theresa Laurico from One More Woman, David Garzon from White Ribbon, and Krystal Kiran, founder of the Maple Batalia Memorial Scholarship for the Arts, shared their advocacy. Featured in the evening’s program was the Conscious Garden (curated vendors) and an activity that encourages trust, communication, and consent, known as Acro Yoga led by Acro TO founder Anya Taraboulsy.

Despite a major set back of the initial venue backing out days before the event and low ticket sales, attendee feedback regarding the quality of the deliverables was positive.
